More about your medicines

Your prescription medicines A-Z

There are a number of reliable sites for comprehensive information about the medications you are taking.
Here is enough to keep you going.

MedSafe (NZ)
MedSafe is a central resource for information on medicines and medical devices in New Zealand, as well as the safe use of medicines. Here they have a comprehensive list of NZ medicines, their use, shapes, side effects, contra-indications, interaction with other drugs, and much more. Only for medicines registered in New Zealand. More here.

RxList
This Internet Drug Index has masses of FDA drug information, side effects, and drug identification. Easy to use. More here.
See also MedlinePlus above.

Pharmac (NZ)
View drugs by their chemical or brand name, or search for the medicine according to its grouping, which includes any guidelines and restrictions that may apply.
Pharmac plays a pivotal role in purchasing the prescription medicines you use.
The New Zealand Pharmaceutical Schedule is a list of the about 2000 prescription medicines and therapeutic products subsidised by the NZ Government. Updated monthly, the information here can be quite technical. More here.
