Privacy and rights

Your privacy

Your privacy really matters to us. Members of our health team:

  • aim to provide you with the best care and convenience. To this end your health record is available at both pharmacies which means you can visit either pharmacy for your medications.
  • may add to your health record during any services provided to you, and use this information to provide appropriate care.
  • may share relevant health information to other health professionals who are directly involved in your health care. For example, we have a formal arrangement with the doctor practices Waimauku Doctors and Silver Fern Medical Centre.
  • always treat all discussions regarding your health and medications as confidential.
Your Prescription Record
We dispense your prescription medicines according to the legal and professional requirements of the New Zealand Ministry of Health, the Pharmaceutical Society of New Zealand, the Pharmaceutical Schedule, and our contract with the Waitemata District Health Board. A list of all prescription medicines we have dispensed to you is kept on a confidential database and is referred to as your Prescription Record Card.
You may have a copy. Just ask.

Have a problem? Your rights

We pride ourselves in our professional customer-focussed service. However, if you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please let us know. We have a formal complaints procedure in place to address any issue you may have. We will always attempt to resolve it to your satisfaction.

If you still feel the complaint has not been resolved to your satisfaction, you are entitled to contact the Health & Disability Commissioner (www.hdc.org.nz/complaints) or the Waitemata District Health Board (tel. (09) 486-8900).
